53 in a 35 construction zone

24 Feb

I got pulled over for the first time ever today. (Obviously I got my first ticket as well.) I figure 6 years without a ticket is pretty good. Much better than most teenagers anyway. I was lucky though that the cop was merciful. I was going 18 over the speed limit in a construction zone, but he gave me a warning for the construction and only ticketed me for 5 over. Very lucky.

I do have to say that I’m mostly annoyed because I’m the poorest I’ve ever been and I am having all these sudden unexpected expenses. I lost my glasses a while ago and I have to buy new ones. I have to pay for a ticket. The list goes on…

I suppose it’s character building or something, but right now it just seems like a pain in my neck.

Digital Art

10 Feb

I’m in a digital media class this semester that’s proving to be very challenging. I think the problem is that I want it to be a class where I learn how to use Photoshop and Illustrator, and the teacher wants it to be an art class. Anyway, our first assignment was to composite at least 5 images together into one piece. This was particularly tough for me because I’m a pretty straitforward photographer and I like things to look realistic. I’m actually really pleased with how it turned out though. Yay me!

What’s up

10 Feb

So I’m supposed to be writing a philosophy paper, but of course I’m updating the blog instead. I think I’m getting less motivated as I get older. Perhaps it’s just senioritis. That’s what I tell myself to reassure myself that I won’t be this lazy forever. Oh well. Here’s a little photographic stroll through what been going on in my life lately. Sorry the picture placement is so messed up. I can’t figure out how to fix it.

I made this Elmo cupcake for Blake’s birthday part in January. I had much greater ambitions, but I ended up being sick that day.

I also had a couple friends get married in December/January. Amanda and Holli, you both looked beautiful.

Every winter we try to get all of us girls from high school together for a Terrible 10 reunion. We lost a few this year to weddings and missions, but it was great to see everyone who could make it

It’s also become a yearly winter tradition for the ladies of the DiFran Clan to take a trip to Vegas. This trip was so much fun. I saw my first ever Cirque du Soleil show, which was AMAZING. Although we did many great things, I will always remember this as the trip where we all got in the bathtub together to warm up.
